Ask UsDulux Weathershield Projects is a high quality acrylic based premium emulsion with superior all weather protection with excellent anti algal & fungal properties and silicon additive. It is suitable for new or previously painted exterior masonry surfaces such as brick works, plaster, cement, rendering and semi-permanent exterior surfaces. Dulux Weathershield Projects is equipped with Colour Lock technology with its unique UV resistance and alkali resistance, it retains colours for a long period of time. The product withstands atmospheric weathering for upto 5 years.
Surface Preparation
Ensure surface is thoroughly clean, dry and free from all loose dirt, chalk, grease, fungi, algae and flaking paint. This can be achieved by brushing with a wire/stiff coir brush, followed by water jetting if required.
Avoid inhalation of dust during cleaning of the surface. For areas severely affected by algae or fungus, application of Pre-Treatment Coat is recommended.
Fill up all minor cracks and defects with cement and sand mixture in the ratio 1:3. Avoid application of putty or filling compounds.
Freshly plastered surfaces must be allowed to cure completely. For best adhesion performance, the moisture content in the wall should not exceed 10%.
Application Tools
By roller, brush or conventional /airless spray (nozzle size 0.5mm to 0.7mm).
Dilution
Ready to use. Dilute 1L of paint with 300-400 ml of water. In case of dark colors, dilute 1L of paint with a maximum of 250 ml of water. Recommended dilution for roller is 20-30%.
Note: Excessive dilution from that recommended will result in low coverage and may impact application properties and colour.
